A MOTHER OF PEARL SNUFF BOTTLE China, Republic period (1912-1949) or later. Of double-gourd form, raised on a short circular foot and rising to a cylindrical neck. Finely carved from mother-of-pearl, the exterior decorated with an overall geometric diaper pattern with faceted lozenge panels, each engraved with floral motifs. The snuff bottle depicting subtle shimmering tones hues of pink, cream, and gold.
