A FINE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE, REPUBLIC PERIOD China, 1912-1949. The flattened body, of rounded rectangular form, rising from a short oval foot through gently sloping shoulders to a cylindrical neck with a narrow mouth and subtly chamfered lip. The finely polished, translucent stone of an icy white tone, suffused with cloudy inclusions, ochre veining, and scattered dark inclusions. Stopper: Jadeite stopper with metal collar, carved spoon Dimensions: Height 61 mm (incl. stopper), Diameter 15 mm (neck) and 6 mm (mouth)
