AN ARCHAISTIC JADE 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' PENDANT, c. 1920s China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) - Republic Period (1912-1949). Carved in openwork and detailed with incised lines, depicting a stylized dragon with a sinuous, reticulated body confronting a phoenix amidst scrollwork. The semi-translucent stone is of a celadon tone with cloudy white inclusions, and russet veins. Dimensions: Length 8 cm
