AN ARCHAISTIC JADE CEREMONIAL AXE BLADE, YUE China, style of the Neolithic period, yet dating to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). Of flattened trapezoidal form, the blade with rounded shoulders, gently flaring sides, and a slightly curved lower edge, pierced below the upper edge with a circular aperture. The semi-translucent stone is of a celadon-beige tone, heavily suffused with an intricate web of brown "fish-bone" fractures. Dimensions: Height 8.4 cm
