A FINE SHOUSHAN SOAPSTONE ‘LOTUS POND’ SEAL, LATE QING DYNASTY TO REPUBLIC PERIOD China, late 19th to early 20th century. The seal of square cross-section, the top finely carved and reticulated to depict intertwined lotus leaves and blossoms above a key-fret band, and incised to the front with an inscription. The opaque stone of a honey-colored tone with creamy-beige inclusions and darker beige veins. The seal face incised Zang Shou.
