A POLYCHROME BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA China, 20th century. Seated in dhyanasana, with the right hand lowered in bhumisparsha mudra and the left raised above the lap, supporting a jewel. He wears a pleated robe draped over the left shoulder, falling in loose folds over his legs, with incised hems. The face is modeled with a serene expression, flanked by pendulous earlobes, the hair cast in tight curls over the ushnisha and surmounted by a globular jewel. The base is sealed.
