A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF AN ADORANT, LATE MING DYNASTY China, 16th century. Finely cast as a female adorant standing atop rockwork, holding a tablet in her hands, and dressed in loose robes with long gently swaying sleeves. The round face with almond shaped eyes, flanked by pendulous earlobes suspending circular earrings, the hair tied in two bows at the back, and the robe decorated with a ruyi apron below decorative hems.
