A BRONZE VOTIVE FIGURE OF GANESHA, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY India, 19th century. Ganesha, depicted with a rounded belly symbolizing abundance and prosperity, stands on an integrated base. The figure has four arms, each holding a symbolic attribute: an axe, representing the power to remove obstacles and sever ties to ignorance; a rope, drawing devotees closer to spiritual fulfillment; sweets, signifying the rewards of devotion and prosperity; and a broken tusk, embodying selflessness, creative skill, and scholarly wisdom. Dimensions: Height 7.3 cm Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles and bringer of good fortune, the patron of arts, sciences, letters, and learning, and the god of beginnings, invoked at the start of ceremonies and in scholarly pursuits.
