AN EARLY BRONZE FIGURE OF A PILGRIM India, 15th century or earlier. A pilgrim is depicted standing upright on an integral base, with minimal decoration, wearing modest attire and his hair topped with a conical headdress. He holds a walking staff, traditionally regarded as a symbol of meditation. The smoothed features, worn from reverent handling, reflect its use as a personal, portable object of veneration, embodying devotion and the pilgrim’s journey toward the divine.
