AN INCISED NINE-EYE AGATE DZI BEAD WITH 18K GOLD MOUNTING Tibet, 19th century or earlier. Of elongated tubular form, featuring nine eyes, skillfully incised onto the surface. The opaque and dark etched agate of anthracite color with tiny pyritic inclusions. The bead is fitted with 18K gold caps on both ends, finely chased with beaded decoration and twisted rope rims, of a later date. Central drilling allowing for suspension as a pendant. Dimensions: Length 5.1 cm Eye Dzi beads are among the most revered and powerful in Tibetan and Himalayan spiritual traditions.
