A JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE, SIGNED MEIZAN, MEIJI PERIOD (1868 - 1912) Decorated with gilt-framed panels depicting females and children chasing butterflies in a garden setting. The second gilt-framed panel depicts the Seven Lucky Gods (Shichifukujin) and children with a three-legged toad (Jin Chan), the money toad associated with wealth. The vase is richly decorated with miniature honeycomb and fretwork designs, together with birds and peony flowers within a landscape setting. 18.5 cm high
