Carl Jungheim (German, 1830-1886) Mountain Lake oil on canvas signed faintly (lower right) 34 7/8 x 51 3/4 inches. This lot is located in Chicago. Provenance Every lot in Sale 6571 - The Vault is being offered as-is and without further condition reports beyond what is already stated. Canvas is lined and slightly loose on stretcher. Moderate surface dirt and dust; network of fine craquelures throughout; stretcher bar mark along upper edge with associated craquelures; frame abrasions along all edges with associated instances of paint loss; scattered instances of visible inpainting within lower half, including a large area in the lower right corner. Under UV light: in addition to aforementioned instances of inpainting, significant amounts of inpainting present throughout upper half, the largest area measuring 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.
