Snake Brooch. Victorian gold coiled snake form brooch displaying blue enamel decoration to the head, (3) graduated bands of pearls, a pair of round garnet cabochon eyes, and a trio of seed pearls to the snout. Snake is depicted with mouth agape revealing rows of teeth and a forked tongue. With small oval locket verso, and a c-clasp. Apparently unmarked. Total approx. weight of the brooch is 7.8 dwt (gross) including the glass observation crystal. From a New Rochelle, NY estate. Dimensions: brooch measures approx. 1.56" w x 1.59" h.
