Antique French 13kt yellow gold circular brooch displaying a central signed Mathieu Deroche portrait plaque of a gentleman accented by a surround of (32) antique faceted diamonds set in platinum. Brooch backing is silver-topped 18kt yellow gold. Inscribed to the underside of the enamel on copper portrait plaque, "56229 Mathieu Deroche Saris? B9 Capuc.... 39 ND". Total approx. weight of the frame and backing is approx. 5.6 dwt (gross). From a Yonkers, NY estate. Dimensions: brooch measures approx. 1.15" in diameter.
