The first showing a scholar sharpening a quill with a quill knife. The second showing a dentist after extracting a tooth from a youth. Both scenes are after Gerrit Dou. Signed "Chadee" or "Chadey" (?) Each with Sevres marks on the reverse of the porcelain plaques. From a Rye Brook, NY estate.
