Note: Many of the 1976 photographs made by David Acevedo of Ali's stay in Puerto Rico languished for years in his closet. In 2004 Acevedo collaborated with the photographer Morris Lane and the Phyllis Lucas Gallery to produce a limited edition of 20 silver gelatin prints of "Muhammad Ali in San Juan 1976." Each print is signed, numbered and dated by David Acevado. The Phyllis Lucas Gallery, also known as the Old Print Center, was a historic New York institution founded in 1928 by Sydney and Phyllis Lucas. Their son, Michael Lucas, ran the business until his passing in 2021. It is famous for being the first North American publisher of original Salvador Dali­ lithographs.
