拍品描述

A MEDIEVAL SILVER RING Circa 14th Century A.D. Cast in silver, this ring features a circular bezel engraved with a stylised symmetrical motif, composed of two confronted birds flanking a central flowering element, all contained within a beaded border. The imagery is crisply rendered in shallow relief. The shoulders rise towards the bezel in fluted, architectural forms that create a stepped transition from the narrow hoop to the broader head. The surface retains a soft grey patina with areas of darker toning and light abrasions. The reverse of the bezel is plain and slightly hollowed, while the interior of the hoop shows gentle wear consistent with prolonged use. Rings of this type, decorated with avian and floral motifs, reflect the aesthetic vocabulary of late medieval metalwork, in which stylised natural imagery held symbolic and ornamental value. Measurements: Internal diameter 2.8 cm; weight 10 g
