AN EGYPTIAN SILVER AMULET OF HORUS, WITH AN EGYPTIAN CROWN Late Period, Circa 664–332 B.C. Cast in solid silver as a striding falcon wearing the Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. The bird is rendered with smooth, rounded forms and stylised anatomical detailing, the wings folded neatly along the body and the legs shown in dynamic stance. A suspension loop is integrated behind the crown. The surface shows a mottled patina of silver-grey and greenish oxidation with areas of encrustation from burial. Amulets of Horus in falcon form were worn for protection and divine favour, symbolising kingship and the solar power of the sky god. The combination of the falcon and Double Crown embodied Horus’s role as unifier and guardian of the Egyptian realm, serving both as a personal talisman and as a devotional emblem within temple or funerary contexts.
