Carved from a banded reddish-orange carnelian, the amulet is shaped as a stylised Djed-pillar with a flaring base and a column of four horizontal registers above the shaft. The stone shows a smooth, semi-gloss finish with natural inclusions and slight surface variations. The upper extension is pierced for suspension, and the side views reveal the stepped profile characteristic of the form. The Djed-pillar was one of the principal Egyptian symbols of stability and endurance and was associated especially with the backbone of Osiris. Amulets of this type were placed among funerary wrappings to ensure the restored strength and everlasting support of the deceased in the afterlife. Measurements: Height 2.8 cm
