拍品描述

AN EGYPTIAN CARNELIAN TYET AMULET New Kingdom, Dynasty XIX–XX, 1307–1070 B.C. Carved from translucent red carnelian with warm orange mottling, the amulet is shaped as a stylised tyet, the looped upper section rising from the flaring, bifurcated lower form. The front is crisply detailed with vertical grooves defining the knotted cloth motif, while the reverse is smoothly finished and undecorated. The surface shows gentle ancient wear and minor mineral accretions in recessed areas. The tyet, often associated with the goddess Isis, served as a potent symbol of protection and regeneration and was commonly placed among the mummy’s wrappings during the New Kingdom. Measurements: Height 3 cm
