Fishing Vessel at Dawn, oil on board depicting a solitary fishing vessel silhouetted against a luminous horizon, rendered in the atmospheric style for which John Astley Hammond became renowned. The composition reflects the artist's mastery of light, mist, and tonal effects, recalling the influence of J.M.W. Turner. Signed. Presented in an ornate period giltwood and gesso frame with picture light. Signed lower right, titled and signed on reverse.
