An exceptional 17th-century Dutch Golden Age landscape by Cornelis van Poelenburgh (Dutch, c. 1594-1667) , capturing a luminous Arcadian scene. The composition features classical bathing figures resting alongside a tranquil pool, flanked by towering, sun-drenched Roman ruins. The reverse of the panel retains a multi-layered history of collecting heritage with a vintage gallery tag from The Jenkins Art Gallery (Toronto), explicitly attributing the work to Cornelis van Poelenburgh and titling the piece The Bathing Pool. There is also a well-preserved historical heraldic collection wax seal impressed directly onto the wood back and multiple historic handwritten ink annotations and a specific tracking inventory number.
