1990年代起，姜吉安便以中国传统的“以物观物”为核心，探索物的本真显现方式。其绢本抽象线条系列，构建了一套完整的材料循环：剪下白绢边缘，将其烧制为颜料并混合矿粉，在剩余绢面上绘制赭色或青色线条；烧制后留下的绢渣，则被塑成与画面线条形态呼应的雕塑，置于作品一侧。画面物象与现成品雕塑形成微妙的视觉对应，在制造错视的同时，保留了材料的原生触感。这一过程中，绢丝化为线条、绢本沉淀为载体、绢灰凝练成颜料，完成了从材料到作品的自我转化，是“以物观物”理念的直接体现。 Since the 1990s, Jiang Jian has centered his artistic practice on the traditional Chinese principle of “observing things through things” (yi wu guan wu), exploring ways in which the essential nature of materials might reveal itself. In his abstract silk-based line series, he developed a complete cycle of material transformation: the trimmed edges of white silk are burned into ash, mixed with mineral pigments, and then used to paint ochre or blue lines onto the remaining silk surface. The residual silk ash left after firing is subsequently molded into sculptural forms that echo the contours of the painted lines and placed alongside the work. A subtle visual correspondence emerges between the painted imagery and the readymade-like sculptural objects, creating optical ambiguity while preserving the material’s original tactile presence. Throughout this process, silk fibers become lines, silk fabric becomes the support, and silk ash becomes pigment, completing a self-contained transformation from material to artwork. The work thus embodies Jiang’s concept of “observing things through things,” allowing the material itself to participate in and reveal its own becoming. 现成品绘画｜Readymade Painting
