Mark of Xu Cao (Xu Cao Yansun), Chinese, 1899-1961. A hanging scroll depicting a monk, seated outdoors, holding a burning alms bowl with a dragon emerging from the rising smoke on paper. Calligraphy and artist seal upper right. Paper with some paint transfer, slight toning, some foxing, some creases and wrinkles. Image 17 1/2 x 39" high, mounted on a silk scroll, 23 x 81" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
