CHINESE EXPORT BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN PLATE FROM THE SAMUEL CABOT, JR. SERVICE Early 19th Century Decoration of the Whampoa Pagoda surrounded by floral devices. Service ordered to commemorate the marriage of Samuel Cabot, Jr. to Eliza Perkins. 10" x 10". The Estate of Dr. William E. Strole, Jr. of Boston. Notes: Samuel Cabot, Jr. (1784-1863), a member of the prominent Cabot family of Boston, became a China Trade merchant around 1817. At the time of his retirement he was one of the richest merchants in New England. He married Elizabeth "Eliza" Perkins (1791-1885) in 1808. The couple had seven sons.
