CHINA TRADE CARVED IVORY CHOP Circa 1825 Extremely finely carved depiction of an American eagle with Liberty shield, arrows and olive branches set within a border of scrolls, diamonds and floral medallions. Incredibly detailed, from the eagle's feathers and sharp beak to the infinitesimal scrolls and leaves. 1.75" x 2.75". Marguerite Riordan, Stonington, Connecticut, December 1, 2001.
