拍品描述

A group of eight painted palm leaf roof panels, decorated in natural pigments of red, ochre, white and black with stylised animal figures and geometric patterns. Such panels were used as ritual roof decorations on ceremonial buildings in Eastern Indonesia, including the Moluccas and Papua regions. The alternating animal and triangular designs symbolise protection, fertility and harmony with nature.
