A BONE PRIEST APRON Nepal, 18th/ 19th cent. ca. 66 x 51 cm The apron is consisting of a girdle of five different oblong-shaped ornaments attached to each other by triple beaded strings, the central plaque carved with Ganesha, the other four with each a figure of Sarvabuddhadakini, each ornament issuing a spray of single or double beaded strings attached to a variety of different shaped ornaments, each sculpted with a divinity or floral motif, its bottom with another four oblong ornaments and the apron fastened to a cotton skirt painted with a large demon head. Jahrhundert ca. 66 x 51 cm Die Schürze besteht aus einem Gürtel aus fünf verschiedenen länglich geformten Ornamenten, die durch dreifache Perlenschnüre miteinander verbunden sind, wobei die zentrale Platte mit Ganesha beschnitzt ist, die anderen vier mit je einer Figur von Sarvabuddhadakini, wobei jedes Ornament eine Gischt aus einfachen oder doppelten Perlenschnüren aufweist, die an einer Vielzahl von verschieden geformten Ornamenten befestigt sind, die jeweils mit einem göttlichen oder floralen Motiv skulptiert sind, und die Schürze an einem Baumwollrock befestigt ist, der mit einem großen Dämonenkopf bemalt ist.
