A THANGKA DEPICTING VAIROCANA Tibet. late 19th cent. 18,5 x 13,5 / 58 x 45 cm The centre of the painting is showing the white Vairocana seated in vajrasana on a lotus base, his hands supporting the chakra, wearing dhoti, his head consisting of three faces, each displaying a serene expression, double aureole behind and the upper register with the blue Akshobhya, his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap supporting the vajra and his face displaying a serene expression, the reverse with the mantra’s ‘aum ah hum’, in brocade mounting. Jahrhundert 18,5 x 13,5 / 58 x 45 cm Das Zentrum des Gemäldes zeigt den weißen Vairocana, der in Vajrasana auf einem Lotussockel sitzt, seine Hände stützen das Chakra, er trägt Dhoti, sein Kopf besteht aus drei Gesichtern, die jeweils einen heiteren Ausdruck zeigen, doppelte Aureole dahinter und das obere Register mit dem blauen Akshobhya, seine rechte Hand in bhumisparshamudra, während die linke auf seinem Schoß ruht und den Vajra stützt und sein Gesicht einen heiteren Ausdruck zeigt, die Rückseite mit dem Mantra 'aum ah hum', in Brokatmontierung.
