A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF MANJUSHRI China, probably Ming dynasty H. 24,5 cm Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with both hands placed in front of his chest in the dharmachakramudra holding stems of lotuses flowering along his upper arms supporting the sword and manuscript, wearing dhoti, cape draped around his shoulders, its streamers encircling both arms with their finials falling down on the base, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, raised urna adorning his forehead, elongated earlobes with ear ornaments, his hair combed in a chignon topped with a ratna secured with a tiara set to its reverse with a red coral bead and ornamented with a pair of pattras and floating ribbons, resealed. European private collection - Minor wear, slightly chpped VERGOLDETE BRONZEFIGUR VON MANJUSHRI China, wohl Ming-Dynastie H. 24,5 cm Sitzend in Vajrasana auf einem Lotussockel, beide Hände vor der Brust im Dharmachakramudra, Lotosblütenstängel an den Oberarmen haltend, die das Schwert und das Manuskript halten, Dhoti tragend, Umhang um die Schultern drapiert, dessen Luftschlangen beide Arme umschließen und deren Enden auf den Sockel fallen, Sein Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck mit niedergeschlagenen Augen unter gewölbten Augenbrauen, eine erhabene Urna ziert seine Stirn, verlängerte Ohrläppchen mit Ohrschmuck, sein Haar ist zu einem Dutt gekämmt und wird von einer Ratna gekrönt, die mit einem Diadem gesichert ist, das auf der Rückseite mit einer roten Korallenperle besetzt und mit einem Paar Pattras und fließenden Bändern verziert ist, wieder verschlossen.
