TWO BRONZE FIGURES OF RATNASAMBHAVA AND AKSHOBHYA Tibet, 17th/ 18th cent. H. 10 cm Ratnasambhava is seated in vajrasana on a lotus base placed on a throne cast with a pair of horses to its front, his right hand in varadamudra, the left resting on his lap, wearing dhoti, scarf draped around his shoulders, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes, urna at his forehead, his hair combed in a chignon and secured with a tiara, aureole missing, resealed; and Akshobhya is seated as well in vajrasana on a lotus base placed on a throne, his right hand in bhumisparshamudra while the left is supporting the vajra, wearing dhoti, bejewelled and his face is displaying a serene expression, resealed. An important private collection from southern Germany, assembled between 1956 and 2007, collection no. 20009 and 20135, the Ratnasambhava bought from Lempertz Cologne, 17.6.1994, Lot 421, plate 53, the Akshobya bought from Nagel, 8.11.2002, Lot 1281 - Minor traces of age ZWEI BRONZEFIGUREN VON RATNASAMBHAVA UND AKSHOBHYA Tibet, 17./18. Jahrhundert H. 10 cm Ratnasambhava sitzt in Vajrasana auf einem Lotossockel, der auf einen Thron mit einem Pferdepaar an der Vorderseite gestellt ist, seine rechte Hand in Varadamudra, die linke ruht auf seinem Schoß, er trägt Dhoti, ein Tuch ist um seine Schultern drapiert, er ist mit Juwelen geschmückt, sein Gesicht zeigt einen gelassenen Ausdruck mit niedergeschlagenen Augen, Urna auf der Stirn, sein Haar ist zu einem Dutt gekämmt und mit einem Diadem gesichert, die Aureole fehlt, neu versiegelt; und Akshobhya sitzt ebenfalls in Vajrasana auf einem Lotussockel auf einem Thron, seine rechte Hand in Bhumisparshamudra, während die linke den Vajra stützt, er trägt Dhoti, ist mit Juwelen geschmückt und sein Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck, neu versiegelt. Eine bedeutende Privatsammlung aus Süddeutschland, zusammengetragen zwischen 1956 und 2007, Sammlungs-Nr. 20009 und 20135, der Ratnasambhava gekauft von Lempertz Köln, 17.6.1994, Lot 421, Tafel 53, das Akshobya gekauft von Nagel, 8.11.2002, Lot 1281 - Geringe Altersspuren
