A STONE FIGURE OF KRISHNA South-India, ca. 16th cent. H. 33.5 cm Sculpted in high relief seated on a lotus, both hands in the act of bringing his right foot to his mouth, the left placed on the base, naked chubby body, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with almond-shaped eyes below arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes with ear ornaments and his hairdo formed of large curls kept together with a beaded string, on stand. From an old European private collection, acquired before 2007, formerly the SLIM Collection, Bouchoucha, 2000 - Very minor restoration, partly chipped Steinfigur von Krishna Südindien, ca. 16. Jahrhundert H. 33.5 cm Hochrelief, auf einem Lotus sitzend, mit beiden Händen den rechten Fuß zum Mund führend, die linke auf den Sockel gelegt, nackter, molliger Körper, geschmückt, Gesicht mit heiterem Ausdruck, mandelförmige Augen unter gewölbten Augenbrauen, verlängerte Ohrläppchen mit Ohrschmuck, Frisur aus großen, mit einer Perlenschnur zusammengehaltenen Locken, auf Stativ. Aus einer alten europäischen Privatsammlung, erworben vor 2007, ehemals Sammlung SLIM, Bouchoucha, 2000 - Sehr geringe Restaurierungen, teilweise bestoßen
