A carved ivory Okimono depicting a fisherman with a basket Japan, sign. Massaki, late 19th c. H. 17 cm Standing on a pedestal with a fish trap. He has a large basket at his waist and holds a snake in his raised right hand. The object (probably a fishing rod) in the left hand is missing. From an old Hunsrücker private collection, acquired in the 1990s - Publ. in: Lempertz Köln, Auction 693, 11/12 June 1993, Lot 1397 - The EU sales licence for this lot is available - Head of the snake replaced, the basket base missing, inlaid leaf in the base missing, minimally dam. Okimono aus Elfenbein mit Darstellung eines Fischers mit Korb Japan, sign. Massaki, spätes 19. Jh. H. 17 cm Auf einem Sockel mit einer Fischreuse stehend. Er hat einen großen Korb an der Taille und hält eine Schlange in der angehobenen Rechten. Die Gegenstand (wohl ein Angel) in der Linken fehlt. Aus einer alten Hunsrücker Privatsammlung, in den 1990er Jahren erworben - Publ. in: Lempertz Köln, Auktion 693, 11./12. Juni 1993, Lot 1397 - Die EU-Verkaufsgenehmigung für dieses Lot liegt vor - Kopf der Schlange ergänzt, Korbboden fehlt, eingelegtes Blatt im Boden fehlt, minim. best.
