A carved ivory netsuke of an Oni on a leaf raft Japan, sign. Mitsuo, a red seal "Mitsu", late 19th c. H. 2,8 cm, B. 4 cm Oni with a large straw hat on his back on a rolled up lotus leaf that serves as a float. In his hands a lotus stem with a bud, which he uses as a rudder. The pupils inlaid in horn. From an old German private collection, acquired at Lempertz Cologne, Auction 580, 28/29.11.1980, lot 279 (copy of invoice and catalogue description available) - The EU trade certificate for the sale of this lot is available - Very minimally wear Elfenbein-Netsuke eines Oni auf Blattfloß Japan, sign. Mitsuo, rotes Siegel "Mitsu", spätes 19. Jh. H. 2,8 cm, B. 4 cm Oni mit einem großen Strohhut am Rücken auf einem zusammengerollten Lotosblatt, dass ihm als Floß dient. In den Händen einen Lotosstengel mit Knospe, den er als Ruder benutzt. Die Pupillen in Horn eingelegt.
