A hanging with a large frontal dragon and the Ashtamangala China, 19th cent. 172 x 164 cm Wool (dark red), plain weave, fulled. Imported from the West. Lower part from cotton (beige), plain weave. Embroidery: colored silk, satin stitch; gold thread, appliqué technique. The mighty golden dragon is hovering around a flaming pearl between clouds above the central rock rising from the waves. The ‘Eight Buddhist Treasures’ (Ashtamangala) with fluttering ribbons and black bats are dispersed between the clouds. German private collection, by tradition acquired in the 1980s Traces of age and use, slightly rubbed, some discoloration in places, edge probably slightly trimmed. Velcro tape sewn onto the top of the back for hanging, some repairs Behang mit großem Drachen und den Ashtamangala China, 19. Jh. 172 x 164 cm Wolle (Dunkelrot), Leinwandbindung, gewalkt. Aus dem Westen importiert. Unten ein Streifen Baumwolle (Beige), Leinwandbindung angenäht. Stickerei: farbige Seide, Plattstich; Goldfaden, Anlegetechnik. Der gewaltige goldene Drache schwebt um eine flammende Perle geschlungen zwischen Wolken über dem zentralen Felsen, der aus den Wellen steigt. Es finden sich die ‚Acht Buddhistischen Schätze‘ (Ashtamangala) mit flatternden Bänder und schwarze Fledermäuse. Deutsche Privatsammlung, laut Überlieferung in den 1980er Jahren erworben Spuren von Alter und Gebrauch, wenig berieben, etwas verfärbt zum Teil, Rand vermutlich wenig beschnitten. Auf der Rückseite oben ein Klettband zur Aufhängung angenäht, etwas rep.
