Two thangkas depicting local deities Tibet, 19th c. 55,5 x 40 / 99,5 x 65,5 cm | 64 x 41,5 / 100 x 61,5 cm R. The first deity seated astride his horse brandishing the sword and holding the reigns, wearing various clothes, his face displaying a severe expression, the upper register with Padmasambhava at the centre flanked by a mantra and Vajrapani and surrounded by his attendants mainly seated on animals, its reverse with mantras; and the second painting with a female deity seated on her horse, her hands holding a club and shield, wearing various garments, her face displaying a fierce expression, the upper register with Padmasambhava flanked by probably Dharmaraja and Vajrapani and surrounded by attendants, both in brocade, mounted on stretcher frames.
