AN INDIAN PICHWAI PAINTING (2) Late 19th/20th century Opaque pigments on cloth, the iconography depicting the Hindu wedding of Krishna and Radha, each seated before temple buildings attended by the gopis, the foreground painted with smaller figures of the couple encircled by further gopis either side of a peacock and two peahens, red lining, 228cm by 188cm; also an Indian embroidered zari work patchwork hanging, 156cm by 100cm Pichwai- some areas of paint loss. Some creasing where folded Hanging- some losses to the applied zari work. Some lifting of threads. Some staing to the reverse
