H 50 - L 33 - D 16 cm Ref.: - These sculptures are based on the 'Borghese Centaur', nowadays part of the collection of the Louvre (Musée du Louvre, Département des Antiquités grecques, étrusques et romaines,MR 122; N 305; Ma 562, link).The 'Centaure Borghèse' was created at the end of the first or the beginning of the second C. AD based on Hellenistic models and was intended to remind the Roman viewer of the soul tormented by love.
