Up for auction is a prestigious and vibrantly colored Persian Oriental rug from the renowned weaving tradition of Bijar. This is a hand-knotted, semi-antique specimen crafted around 1900. The highly elegant field features a deep, warm red ground, showcases the dense and intricate all-over pattern (Mahi / Herati design) that is characteristic of this provenance. The detailed execution gives the main field a fascinating depth and visual dynamism. The center is framed by an opulent, multi-tiered border on a midnight blue ground, structured with floral palmettes and elegant vine motifs.
