拍品描述

A finely carved brush washer made from deer antler, dating to the 17th–18th century. The natural form of the antler is skillfully shaped into an organic vessel, decorated with carved lingzhi fungi and naturalistic textures, symbolizing longevity and good fortune in Chinese culture. Such objects were used on a scholar’s desk to rinse calligraphy brushes during painting and writing. Length: 7.6 cm
