拍品描述

A charming pale celadon jade elephant carved in a compact and powerful form, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and prosperity. The sculptor skillfully captured the animal’s gentle character through its curved trunk, rounded body, and finely incised details. Its smooth polish and warm patina reflect the refined craftsmanship of Han dynasty jade carving. Length: 6.5 cm. PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
