拍品描述

A finely carved yellow jade ancestor mask of the Post-Shijiahe cultural tradition, featuring a stylized ancestral face with prominent eyes, a pierced central opening, and elegantly curved openwork projections. The symmetrical design and refined craftsmanship reflect its ritual significance and association with early ancestor worship. Length 7.5 cm. PROVENANCE From a private Canadian collection. Formerly from Mr. Huang Zhi-Ming, a Taiwanese private collector. Mr. Huang acquired the jade pieces in Hong Kong. Some from Mr. Lai Loy (1926 - 2012), a jade dealer on Hollywood Road well known for handling and supplying archaic jade pieces to collectors, museums and other dealers and some some from private collectors in Hong Kong.
