Of flattened hu-form with two moulded handles. Both sides decorated with a lotus spray underneath a shou character. Four-character Qianlong mark to theunderside. Malachite stopper. Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century. H. 6.5 cmExhibited at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, in Prized Possessions From Private Homes, October to December 1968. Snuff Bottle Collection of John MckeggieRogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
