Of tapered rectangular form. Carved in openwork with a dragon on one side, and a phoenix on the other in between two ruyi head bands. The shoulder with a leiwen band. Imitation coral stopper. H. 8.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John Mckeggie Rogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the 1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
