Of elongated ovoid form. Carved in black overlay on a clear brush red ground depicting blossoming floral sprays in high relief. Ivory stopper. H. 7.5 cm Exhibited at the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, in Prized Possessions From PrivateHomes, October to December 1968. Snuff Bottle Collection of John Mckeggie Rogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Torontobrokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the 1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
