Of flattened oval form. Carved in a black overlay to the white ground with wufu (five bats) motif surrounding a shou character symbolizing longevity on both sides. Whitejade stopper. H. 7.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John MckeggieRogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
