Of flattened ovoid form. Carved in a realgar red overlay on a turquoise ground. With two circular handles to the sides. Stopper. Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795. H. 7.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John Mckeggie Rogers (1905-1977)He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the 1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompsonwhose collection now resides in the AGO.
