Attributed to Zhou Leyuan (active 1879-1893). Of tapered rectangular form. Decorated with six goldfish on a dotted ground. Signed Leyuan, undated. Stopper. Qing dynasty, late19th century. H. 7.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John MckeggieRogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
