Of flattened oval form. One side decorated with a Pekinese dog, and the other with two doves. Two moulded mythical beast handles to the sides. Four-character Daoguang mark andof the period. Rose quartz stopper. Qing dynasty, Daoguang period, 1821-1850. H. 7.5 cmSnuff Bottle Collection of John Mckeggie Rogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities.He started collecting snuff bottles in the 1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
