Of tapered cylindrical form. Decorated with two cats in a garden with plum blossoms, rockery, and butterflies. Lapis lazuli stopper. Possibly from the Imperial Palaceworkshops. Qing dynasty, 18th century. H. 6.5 cm Snuff Bottle Collection of John MckeggieRogers (1905-1977) He was a senior partner of the Toronto brokerage firm Doherty Roadhouse. He was a great collector of antiquities. He started collecting snuff bottles in the1940's alongside his friend Ken Thompson whose collection now resides in the AGO.
